I've Learned Someting

Since I began riding a motorcycle most of the time, I've learned a couple of things I never knew before.

1. I believe over 50% of the population of the Oklahoma City area has a spouse / mom / sister who is a trauma / ER nurse.

2. None of the above (or their spouse / brother / son) are very original.

I came to this less than scientific conclusion by noting the number of times over the last month I have heard something similar to:

{person who waits for a group to say this in front of} "You know...my {mom / wife / sister / gay lover} is a trauma nurse. Do you know what (s)he calls motorcycles?

{me} Let me guess...

{future comedian} MURDER (or donor) CYCLES bwahahaha! Get it? Get it?

{me} Yeah, I get it. I'm going to die, and you're an unoriginal bastard. Argh.

I'm just sayin'.

Gas Prices and Making the Best of it...

Well, I decided it was time to combine commuting to work with recreation, so I picked up a Kawasaki KLR-650 dual sport motorcycle a couple of weeks ago. It has been great so far. It's street legal but trail ready, and looks damn good. Especially with me on it.

I'll Pay for the Lettuce

I am loving the argument that the price of veggies would skyrocket if we enforced our immigration laws. So, we should be glad we are paying less than market value for vegatables on the backs of human beings who are being exploited by employers who don't pay the minimun wage, benefits, or overtime? And this is the idea of the compassionate left?

Let's let people come here legally and get paid what they should and then let's pay what we should for our products. Don't worry, it'll all come out in the wash once our medical rates, taxes, and crime rates go down. I'll betcha all that taxpayer funded education and welfare is costing us way more than we're giaining in tomato savings.

Everybody deserves fair wages, especially hard-working immigrants who have busted their butts to legally go after the American dream.

I'm now surrounded by common sense

The Kansas legislature just overrode a veto of a concealed weapon bill that will allow law abiding citizens the means to protect their families while conducting their business in public. This means, assuming reciprocity is agreed to in time, that Okies can cross any border and not have to forfeit that basic human right.

I know...why do you need to carry a gun...wild west...

I say why does someone who has never broken the law need to be told what to CARRY. Everyone knows it's not legal to just shoot someone. Carrying an object has never made anyone a killer. Anyway, time has proven that crime does nothing but fall anywhere citizens are allowed to be armed. Kansas will be no different.

I've been meaning to see The Ice Harvest, looks like an appropriate time...

Hillary: Conservatives Want to Jail Jesus

So here's what Ms. Rotten Clinton has to say about strengthening illegal immigration laws:

"It is hard to believe that a Republican leadership that is constantly talking about values and about faith would put forth such a mean-spirited piece of legislation," she said of the measure, which was passed by the House of Representatives in December and mirrored a companion Senate bill introduced last week by Senator Bill Frist, a Tennessee Republican and the majority leader.

"It is certainly not in keeping with my understanding of the Scripture because this bill would literally criminalize the Good Samaritan and probably even Jesus himself," she said. "We need to sound the alarm about what is being done in the Congress."

Um, which scriptures, Hillary?

Certainly none of us Bible bangers should doubt that you have an intimate knowledge of that of which you speak, but...

BATF Warned About OKC Bombing in Advance?

Well, that link died a quick death. Story pulled, I am sure due to inaccuracies. Basically it talked about undercover FBI agents in Elohim City who were told of McVeigh's plans but for whatever reason, the warning died on the way up the chain. It's just a TINY conspiracy theory, give me a break.
